John Dinan

A Dublin painter, John Dinan has exhibited regularly at RHA and Oireachtas exhibitions since 1979. A member of the Back Lane Painters, he has participated in their many group exhibitions. He studied landscapes with the late Henry Healy RHA and he studied portraits with Desmond Carrick RHA. In 1976 he founded the Portmarnock Art Group.

His paintings are characterised by strong composition, bold shapes and often vibrant colours. His landscapes are painted en plein air and capture the subtle nuances of colour, tone and atmosphere which this method allows. John has been exhibiting in Combridges since 1985. His works are held in many collections in Ireland, the United States, France and Germany.
