 Born in 1943 Desmond has always had an interest in drawing and started painting in 1964. He attended art classes for seven years at Newtownabbey Technical College and has been a past chairman of Glengormley and Carrickfergus art clubs. Due to high interest in his work he turned professional in 1993. He presently teaches art at Downshire school, Carrickfergus. In 1995 Desmond was among the Morton newspaper award winners in a province wide art competition some of his work is in private collections of Wiggins Teape and the Department of the Environment and his paintings can be found in Australia, Canada, U.S.A. and Kenya. |
